Alert to Captains with team members that are SELF_RATED or APPEALED

TEAM MEMBERS MAY BE DISQUALIFIED DURING THE CURRENT LEAGUE and
ALL or some of THEIR LINES WILL BE FORFEITED!

This information is gleaned from NETX meeting yesterday where several team captains were discussing a recent event with the Adult League Coordinator.  We will clarify the actual policy as information becomes available.

Information applies to team members that are self-rated or have successfully appealed their ranking. When they got their "new" ranking from USTA the player was warned about a possible disqualification if their ranking was determined to be too low and hence unfair to the league.

The situation in which this arises is: when the results of the player consistently, three times in the league, show the player is rated too low. If this occurs the player will be disqualified.

If a self-rated player is disqualified, ALL the lines they played will be forfeited.

If the player is appealed then the line from the LAST match they played will be forfeited.

There is no recourse. There will be no opportunity to "appeal". The players were given this information when their ranking was assigned.

Obviously the intent of the rule is to keep the rankings as fair as possible. The more scores recorded, the more information there is to receive a fair comparative ranking.

Thank you for being a team captain!
